Bath is full of fun and exciting things to do during your cottage break, but if you’re visiting during the festive season, there’s one must-see – Bath Christmas Market. Of the many Christmas Markets being held throughout the Cotswolds, this is one of our favourites. Find out why below…
About Bath Christmas Market
The award-winning Bath Christmas Market transforms the city’s Georgian streets into a twinkling maze of over 150 chalets. The market has been recognised as one of the top festive events in Europe, and sells everything from unique homewares to handmade decorations. Crucially, the market also supports Bath and the South West’s many small businesses, allowing visitors a chance to pick up unique gifts for everyone on their list.
The Market is a fantastic place to enjoy some delicious, freshly prepared food during your break. From a burger to a hog roast, or a mulled wine to a hot chocolate, there’s bound to be something that whets your appetite. There’s also a new vegan food chalet, so everyone can enjoy a tasty, warming treat. Don’t forget to bring your reusable cup to receive a discount!
Last but not least, there will be plenty of musicians and other acts entertaining the crowds during your visit. Enjoy the festive atmosphere created by local choirs and brass bands, or why not head over and see who’s performing on the busy entertainment stage on Bond Street?

No tickets are required, and you can find out the times and details here.
Bath on Ice also takes place at the same time as the Christmas Market. Just a few minutes’ walk away, in Royal Victoria park, you’ll find an amazing ice-skating rink, complete with glow-in-the-dark mini golf and plenty of food and drink. The rink is open all day, seven days a week, with hour-long slots throughout the day. Find more information here.
Last but not least, add some extra magic to your visit with one of the Bath Christmas Market Experiences. Choose between wreath-making and bauble-blowing, and spend a couple of hours crafting your own decoration to take home with you. The experiences also include a lunch and glass of champagne at The Ivy Bath Brassiere and a two-hour session at Therma Bath Spa. Click here for more information.
