gloucestershire and warwickshire railway prepares to open its doors for the 2011 season

One of the most popular attractions for visitors to our Cotswold cottages is the steam railway the runs between Cheltenham Racecourse to a point just a little North of Toddington. After two embankment collapses the volunteers at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway are more determined than ever to make 2011 a great year for the railway. During the year there will be two separate services, one a steam train service between Cheltenham Racecourse and Winchcombe, and a diesel multiple unit round trip from Toddington the main home of the railway over the extended line North of Toddington itself. Whilst the diesel service has already begun, the steam service starts on 22nd April. Throughout the year there will be the usual range of special events such as the Thomas and friends days, Elegant excursions and the fish and chip specials. There is also the chance to drive a locomotive, either steam or diesel.
