Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham has beaten the likes of Gordon Ramsays Maze Restaurant in London to be named one of the top 10 restaurants within the UK. The Good Food Guide 2010, published earlier this month, has positioned this wonderfully unpretentious restaurant sixth, just behind The Fat Duck in Berkshire and Le Manior aux Quat Saisons in Oxfordshire. It is no surprise that Le Champignon Sauvage has been regarded so highly as it already has an impressive list of accolades to its name including 2 Michelin Stars, 2 stars from the Hardens Guide and 4 AA Rosettes to name just a few. Run by David Everrit-Matthias and his wife Helen for more than 20 years they were awarded an impressive 8 out of 10 which according to the Which Guide, who publish the Good Food Guide, this indicates a high level of individuality, with faultless technique and impressive artistry.
