Chipping Campden is the most beautiful and unspoilt Cotswoldmarket town. The thatched cottages and rich history attractvisitors from far flung countries. For me, its all thefabulous places to indulge my taste buds and watch the worldgo by that bring me back every opportunity I get.This ancient town has many beautiful buildings, including StJames' Church, the Almshouses, the Market Hall and the OldSilk Mill. The Market Hall was built in 1627 to provideshelter for local produce and is now owned by theNational Trust.The long, broad, curved High Street contains many magnificentCotswold stone buildings built by wealthy merchantsbetween the 14th and 17th centuries. Today you'll find manya deli, traditional butcher or wine merchant behind its doors.In its more recent history, Chipping Campden was influential in the arts& craftsmovement with many craftsmen migrating here from London in 1902.There is much to do in and around Chipping Campden - one ofthe most notable events is the Olimpick Games on Dover's Hilloverlooking the Vale of Evesham. Dating back to 1612, theseopen air games traditionally held on the Friday after theSpring Bank Holiday feature Morris men, tug of war and ofcourse the art of shin kicking!
