The Cotswolds boasts a number of wildlife-themed attractions which are great for families and animal lovers to enjoy as part of your visit. With the weather becoming warmer, its an excellent time of year to visit, enjoy the surroundings and get up close and personal with all creatures great and small! Lambing season at Cotswold Farm Park Its a busy time of year for Adam Hensons Cotswold Farm Park, and after a number of renovations, the park is ready to welcome visitors once again this spring. The new lambs and piglets are here and theres excitement across the farm. You can also get to know some of the farms smaller residents with rabbits, guinea pigs and plenty of others to fall in love with. With regular activities and daily feeding sessions throughout the day, the farm is a great place to visit and is somewhere the whole family will love exploring. Get up close and personal with owls at the Barn Owl Centre Owls are elusive creatures, and being nocturnal, its unlikely youve come face to face with many of them! The Barn Owl Centre however provides an opportunity to see some of these beautiful birds of prey at close range. The centre offers a range of experiences including the chance to have a go at flying the owls (suitable for children aged 4 and up), photography days, as well as learning more about the conservation work that the centre does to help these magnificent creatures. Birdwatching at Cotswold Water Park Cotswold Water Park is an excellent location for spending the day with family and friends. Whilst there are many activities to get involved in on the water and on land, you may wish to keep an eye out for our feathered friends who youll spot all over the waterpark. Spring is a special time of year for seeing certain migrating birds including swallows, teals, kingfishers and others, whilst ospreys have also been seen passing through the area. Bring a picnic and enjoy a lovely afternoon spotting the many birds that call the Water Park home, even if only for a little while! New arrivals at Cotswold Wildlife Park The Cotswold Wildlife Park has also seen some new arrivals this spring, making a visit to this popular Cotswold wildlife attraction even more special. As well as Parma Wallaby joeys, you could see the maturing lion cubs, and some otters. Who knows what other cute creatures will make an appearance over the spring months?

As well as wildlife attractions, spring brings a whole host of new wildlife-themed events to enjoy, offering behind the scenes tasters of life at the attractions and the chance to take part in some special experiences too. Falconry Week at Cotswold Farm Park 24th April 1st May Falconry Week is a special week which will see Cotswold Farm Park host a number of special birds of prey, giving talks and demonstrations which will be sure to wow the crowds. There will be an extra special opportunity for some people to have a go at flying the birds and test out their own falconry skills! Meet the Chicks and Rabbits (Every day) Cotswold Farm Park also hosts regular Meet Our Chicks and Rabbits days which include the opportunity for rabbit handling and learning more about the baby chicks that have just hatched on the farm. Taking place in the Touch Barn, they are popular with small children and excellent practice for those thinking about keeping pets. World Penguin Day at Cotswold Wildlife Park 23rd of April This April, Cotswold Wildlife Park will be hosting a World Penguin Day in order to raise money towards penguin conservation. The penguins will take centre stage at the park where therell be special events, extra feeding and talks as well as plenty of other activities that visitors can join in on. Its an ideal way to get to know these funny and fascinating creatures, as well as help support them in the wild. A Cracking Easter at Birdland 1st 23rd April Head to Birdland over the Easter break for some exciting new activities and events, including the chance to meet the newest chicks joining the parks impressive collection of birds and other animals. See them in their incubators and be amongst those who might be lucky enough to see them hatch. You'll also get the chance to enjoy the Easter Challenge Quiz, egg-themed talks, Easter trails and more.
