The best of both worlds...

Isnt that what we all want from a holiday? With busy, often stressful lives the ideal is to get away from it all to a haven of peace and tranquillity and then the pragmatist in us kicks in as we realise we dont want to be THAT far away from civilisation in the form of pubs, shops, restaurants, things to do. Enter charming Cleeveley Cottage, a neat solution to this holiday conundrum. Its location in a small hamlet is pastoral perfection but its also a shade less than 3 miles from gorgeous Burford, gateway to the Cotswolds. Ideally suited to small families with a twin bedded room on the top floor which has an adjacent TV snug for independent TV viewing as well as a handy WC and a generous king size room for mum and dad on the first floor, which is where youll also find a more than ample family bathroom with an indulgent tub and separate shower. An open plan kitchen/dining/living space on the ground floor completes the living space. Theres a woodburner to take the chill off and a walled garden with bbq and outdoor furniture for al fresco summer evenings. A common holiday challenge is keeping the kids busy: Cleeveley Cottage wins hands down in this respect as its only a mile from the excellent Cotswold Wildlife Park (do book online to save on the entrance fee). Continuing the wildlife theme, Crocodiles of the World is just a short 5 mile ride away. For culture of a different kind, Kelmscott Manor, the Cotswold retreat of William Morris, can be reached in 20 minutes the house is inspiring, the gardens beautiful with easy access to the Thames pathway and theres also the obligatory tea room for indulging appetites of a different kind. Within half an hour you can explore more ancient history in the form of Chedworth Roman Villa: we recommend parking in the village of Chedworth and taking a stroll through the combe to the site and then back again for lunch at the stylish Seven Tuns. If youre inspired by the Roman theme, you can press on the extra 10 miles to Cirencester (well worth exploring in itself) to the excellent Corinium Museum. If the kids are proving difficult, a visit to The Old Prison, historic centre of correction may just do the trick! Its a 10 mile, 20 minute hop from Cleeveley Cottage and very near the attractive town of Northleach (viewers of J K Rowlings A Casual Vacancy may find this familiar.) If you feel like a treat after all that family pleasing, the excellent Five Alls is less than 10 minutes away in Filkins. If you need more convincing, to tempt you further were offering 10% of all stays between now and the end of September.
